What are the Awards about?

Who can apply for the Awards?

Participant must be a full-time employee at Aster DM Healthcare having an Aster Employee ID.
Award is open to all employees from India & GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) regions of Aster DM Healthcare.
Applicants must have at least two years of work experience with any Aster DM Healthcare entity as of March 31, 2026.
For the Team Excellence category, the team lead must have completed at least two years with the organization as of March 31, 2026; team members may have a shorter tenure.
The initiative or work submitted in any category must have been implemented, with its impact reflected between April 1, 2025, and March 31, 2026.
Participants must select the category relevant to the journey of their profession. Entries are invited across 6 categories of excellence:
1. Clinical Excellence Award for Doctors
2. Clinical Excellence Award for Nurses and Paramedics
3. Customer Service Excellence (All employees/functions can apply)
4. Business Excellence (All employees/functions can apply)
5. Volunteering Excellence (All employees/functions can apply)
6. Team Excellence (All departmental projects and cross-functional teams can apply)
Participants must complete and submit an application form via the official awards portal to apply for the awards. Self-nominations/applications are limited to a maximum of two categories.
It is mandatory for the Participant to answer all questions related to the selected category. The Award Management reserves the sole right to disqualify any application received.
Winners of previous editions are eligible to reapply in different categories with a different initiative or work done. However, applications in the same category shall be permitted only after a minimum of two years from the year of their last award.

3	Service Excellence	The Service Excellence Award celebrates the extraordinary efforts of employees who excel in interacting with customers - both within the company and outside - by consistently delivering exceptional service. It honours those who truly embrace and exemplify Aster's pledge of "We'll Treat You Well" through their empathetic, courteous, and superior service standards, significantly enhancing the experiences of patients, their loved ones, and various collaborators.	1. Service Excellence and Experience Enhancement - Evaluates how effectively the initiative addressed the needs and concerns of customers, patients, families, employees, vendors, or partners by improving service delivery and providing a courteous, empathetic, and responsive experience aligned with Aster’s “We’ll Treat You Well” promise. 2. 4	Business Excellence	The Business Excellence Award recognizes individuals who demonstrate exceptional performance, innovation, and leadership in driving business success and achieving organizational goals. This Award celebrates excellence in areas such as strategic planning, operational efficiency, financial management, and overall business performance.	1. Strategic Thinking & Execution Excellence - Assesses how clearly the nominee identified a relevant business problem, performance gap, or opportunity and implemented an innovative and effective solution through new processes, tools, collaboration models, cost optimisation, or customer-centric approaches. 2. Measurable Business Outcomes - Assesses demonstrated impact on revenue, cost, efficiency, productivity, quality, customer/patient satisfaction, retention, or operational performance. 3. Value Creation and Sustainability - Assesses the extent to which the nominee went beyond their regular responsibilities to create meaningful value for the organization, and whether the initiative has a clear plan for continuity, scalability, or replication across teams, units, or locations. 5	Volunteering Excellence	The Volunteering Excellence Award recognizes individuals who demonstrate outstanding dedication, commitment, and impact through their volunteer efforts. This Award celebrates employees who contribute their time, skills, and resources to support charitable initiatives, community service projects, and philanthropic endeavours aligned with Aster's values and mission.	1. Initiative & Individual Contribution - Assesses how clearly the nominee identified a community need or social challenge, defined the initiative’s objective and intended outcome, to demonstrate significant personal contribution through ownership, leadership, coordination, mentoring, innovation, and mobilization of others. 2. Measurable Impact/ Outcomes - Assesses tangible outcomes such as beneficiaries reached, before-and-after improvement, testimonials, recognition, or lasting positive change. 3. Going Beyond Regular Duties - Evaluates the nominee’s contribution of personal time, effort, skills, or resources beyond routine job responsibilities to create community impact.	All Functions
6	Team Excellence	The Team Excellence Award recognizes outstanding teamwork, collaboration, and achievement within a team or department of Aster. This Award celebrates teams that demonstrate exceptional performance, innovation, and synergy in achieving shared goals and driving organizational success and excellence.	1. Initiative / Project Execution - Evaluates the clarity of the identified need and objectives, along with the effectiveness of planning, implementation, problem-solving, and adaptability. 2. Outcome & Measurable Impact - Assesses the measurable results, value created, supporting evidence, continued adoption, and potential for replication or scaling. 3. Teamwork & Collaboration - Evaluates role clarity, equitable contribution, coordination, communication, shared decision-making, and collective ownership among team members.	Minimum team size of three members. Cross-functional teams working on a project. Candidates applying for the Team Excellence category should note that the team lead must have been with the organization for a minimum of two years as of March 31, 2026. However, team members may have less than two years of tenure with the organization.

Can I nominate myself?

Yes, eligible individuals may nominate themselves in a maximum of two categories.

Can I nominate a colleague?

Yes, you may nominate your peers or colleagues in one or more categories, provided both the nominator and nominee meet the eligibility criteria.

How do I nominate a colleague?

An individual can nominate a eligible colleague/Asterian by clicking on the website link www.drmoopensaward.com.
Nominator will do one time registration on the Awards portal with their email ID.
Once the account verification is completed, nominator can login, select the category and start filling the details in the form then submit.
The nominee will then receive an email regarding the nomination.

Can I nominate a colleague from any region?

No, you can only nominate colleagues from the region to which you belong. For example, if your current region is India, you can only nominate colleagues from the Indian region and not from the GCC.

How can I verify my email/ complete my registration?

After the participant registers on the portal using an Aster email ID, they will receive a verification email containing login credentials. The participant must click the link provided in the email to complete their registration and proceed to the next stage.

Can I use an alternate email ID?

Yes, there is an option to use an alternate email ID in case you are unable to receive the verification email on the official email ID. However, we strongly encourage all participants to use their Aster official email ID for registration. This practice ensures compliance with privacy laws by limiting the collection of personal information. It aligns with data minimization principles and reduces the risk of accessing and storing unnecessary personal data.

What are the guidelines for submitting supporting documents for nominations?

Supporting documents must be provided to substantiate entries or participants' contributions. When handling sensitive patient data, including names, email addresses, phone numbers, addresses, ages, medical reports, or mental health records, it is imperative to mask or anonymize this information to safeguard patient privacy.

How will I know if I have been nominated?

After a nomination is submitted, the nominee will receive an email containing a link to the application portal.

What is my reporting manager’s role in the process?

Your reporting manager plays a crucial role in the process. They have the right to raise any concerns they may have. If you are shortlisted for the next round, the audit partners may reach out to your reporting manager to confirm the initiative details mentioned in your application form.

Who will judge my nomination?

All nominations received will first be screened by the official third-party tabulators and then assigned to the screening jury for the first evaluation.
The shortlisted entries will then be evaluated by the jury comprising of senior leaders from Aster India and GCC region.
The finalist will be decided basis the evaluation of the Grand Jury consisting of internal and external members.

What do the Award winners receive?

Winners from India will receive a cash prize of INR 5,00,000, and winners from the GCC will be awarded a cash prize of AED 40,000 across six categories of excellence.
The winning prize money for the Team Excellence category will be equally distributed among all team members, including the team lead, for each region.

How many winners will be awarded?

There will be 6 winners from India and 6 winners from GCC.

When will the results be announced?

The results will be announced in January 2027. Dates are yet to be announced.

Can I withdraw from the nomination process? How do I initiate the withdrawal process?

Yes, you can withdraw from the nomination process, whether you have nominated yourself or have been nominated by someone else. To initiate the withdrawal, you must inform the Award Management and Process Advisors in writing by emailing the contact us email ID. This can be done at any time up to one week before the final Award ceremony, at the discretion of the Award Management.

Can previous year’s winners apply for the same category again in the current edition of the Awards?

Yes, winners from previous editions may apply again in a different category. Applications in the same category may only be submitted after the stipulated waiting period mentioned in the Award guidelines.

Can I save my application and complete it later?

Yes, Online applications can be saved and completed later before final submission.
